CIS football fans took note of University of Saskatchewan wide receiver Kit Hillis in 2012.

The 2012 CIS First Team All-Canadian set a career benchmark leading the Canada West in receiving with 57 receptions for 797 yards and eight touchdowns in six games. His season will enter the record books as one of the best by a Huskie Athletics receiver in history. The 797 yards marks the third best performance in a single season in Huskie history, while his 57 catches in 2012 and 14 in a game against UBC both broke long-standing school records.

“Kit’s quickness in and out of his breaks and his deceiving speed has enabled him to become one of the top offensive threats in the conference,” said Huskie head coach Brian Towriss. “We are definitely more explosive with him in the lineup.”

The fourth-year business student enters his CFL Draft year after being chosen to participate in the 2013 CIS East-West Bowl. But an injury kept Hillis from playing in the game.

Hillis, 5-9 and 175 pounds, joined the Huskies in 2011 after winning the Canadian Junior Football Championship with the Saskatoon Hilltops.
